Discover the wanderer in you.
Jay And Sab Around The World is a travel blog with a mission to inform and inspire people to travel more.
Before we were Jay And Sab Around The World, we were a couple who enjoyed traveling and trying out new things. We would share these experiences in our personal social media accounts using the hashtag #JayAndSabAroundTheWorld as a way of documenting our adventures together. Soon, we decided to create dedicated social media accounts to share our experiences with others, thus giving birth to our blog.
But the burning question: why do we travel? Traveling helps us grow in knowledge, values, and experiences. It gives us the opportunity to explore the world and meet new people. Best of all, it encourages and inspires us to see the beauty of God’s creations.
Jay and Sab Around The World lives by the motto “Discover the wanderer in you” because we want to show you that ordinary people can live extraordinary lives. We are two regular people who believe that everyone has the potential to live their dreams.
Simple: our parents trust us.
We would like to share with you some of our personal convictions whenever we travel:
The reason why we do this is because we want to honor and obey God and our parents (we don’t want to break their trust!), and of course, to avoid temptation.
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
Jay: I make sure that I maximize my leaves. As for Sab, she runs the blog full time so she can travel anytime. Also, we take note of holidays, and plan our trips in advance.
Nothing comes easy--we need to work hard and save a portion of our earnings for traveling. We also try to do sideline jobs to add to our funds.
Aside from those, we make sacrifices. What do we mean by this? When we started dating each other, we spent so much money on our dates. We would try the new restaurant in town (we would order so many dishes!), we had movie nights and shopped occasionally. But ever since we discovered our passion for traveling, we’ve decided to make little sacrifices such as eating in more affordable restaurants, ordering less food (no more dessert!), watch DVDs at home, etc. In short, no unnecessary expenses. If we could live without it, then why buy it? (But of course, we treat ourselves out once in a while--especially on special occasions... like launching our blog! Haha)
Sab: Jay loves to give me all expense paid trips as my birthday gift and Christmas gift, so yay for me! Haha)Important note: We make sure we only go on trips that we can afford. If it is out of our budget, then we will save until we can afford it
Before we bought a camera, we would always use our iPhone so we had to ask others to take our photos (di pa uso yung selfie stick eh! Haha)
Now that we have a camera, we also invested in a tripod and a monopod--we bring it everywhere we go! But if we have no time to set up, we would still ask others to take our photos (usually Sab’s sister or her cousins, or whoever is traveling with us).
